Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) is one of the most prestigious technical university in Spain, with an intensive teaching and research activity developed more than 2.600 faculty members and researchers. With around 45 M€/year of income from R&D&I activities, it exploits 373 patents and has 15 spin-off companies. R&D&I activities of UPV’s IIAMA is distributed among 10 research groups that cover the whole spectrum of water and environmental engineering (water quality, agriculture, forestry, environment, hydraulics, hydrology and hydrogeology, water resources engineering). IIAMA is also active in outreach and dissemination with activity in social networks, articles and interviews in the media, newsletters, workshops, awards and sponsorships.
ICATALIST is an innovative SME specialized in knowledge brokerage and natural resources management. We have expertise in policy evaluation having undertaken studies on both foresight and ex post analysis of policy at different levels (local, national, EU and global) in areas like groundwater policy and the water -food-energy nexus; a focus on ecosystem services, water accounting, GIS & remote sensing, and finally to support innovation in public institutions in all areas related to water governance, water users groups, water education, and e-government in relation to socio-ecological systems.
We provide direct support to the EIP RiverRes Group on River Restoration looking at nature-based solutions. We bring experience and expertise in policy analysis, qualitative and quantitative research methods, which we combine to analyse specific issues
ISEG is the Lisbon School of Economics and Management of Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa). After its creation in 1982, Moulay Ismail University quickly developed to become one of the most important institutions of higher education in Morocco. BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) is the French Geological Survey, created in 1959. BRGM’s activities are focused on increasing geological knowledge and understanding surface and subsurface phenomena related to groundwater, mineral and geo-energy resources. By addressing major environment and sustainability issues, BRGM provides support for public policies and decision making, and contributes to the development of innovative technologies featuring research in public and private partnership, at national and international level.

Our tool Visual is a consolidated project used by large companies since 2010 that nowadays covers more than 3 million hectares and 1.200 million plants. VisualNAcert has commercial partnerships with IBM, Telefonica, John Deere, ENISA and Endeavor
CIRAD is a public French research institute that works with partners in southern countries to produce and disseminate innovative knowledge to support agricultural development and natural resource management. With an annual budget of 200 M€ in 2016, CIRAD is a major player in talks between Europe and the South with 1.650 staff members, including 800 researchers of which 200 are out-posted in partner institutes in Africa, South America and Asia. CIRAD has a long collaboration with Moroccan and Algerian partners of eGROUNDWATER.
Within CIRAD, the project will be implemented by researchers belonging to the Joint Research Unit on Water Resource Management, Actors and Uses (G-Eau Research Unit), which encompasses other French research institutions focusing on water management, such as IRSTEA (French Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture).
The University of Algarve is a public higher education institution located in the southern part of Portugal. In the academic year of 2010-2011 there were circa 9.700 students of which 2102 were enrolled in postgraduate programs. The University’s core research and teaching areas are: science and technology, management and economy, earth and marine sciences, social sciences and more recently health.
At present the University of Algarve offers 56 graduate and 87 postgraduate programs (65 MSc and 22 PhD). International, inter-personal and interinstitutional networks, and projects developed in cooperation with other universities are reflected in its teaching and research activities so as to foster innovation and update of learning contents, project incubation, curriculum development, scientific research and training.
