Workshop in algeria: Improving the knowledge of the water management in Timimoun

In Algeria, a mission spanning December 16 to 23 was successfully conducted in Timimoun by the local team of researchers. The objective of the works was the preparation of a comprehensive water management model to address critical water-related challenges in the region.

The mission employed Ini-Wag, an innovative tool that integrates a participatory approach to water management. By actively involving participants in the process, the team engaged in co-constructing a shared territorial diagnosis through interactive play. Ini-WAG, an integral component of the COOPLAGE toolbox, represents a collection of methods and tools strategically designed to facilitate discussions, negotiations, and the formulation of meaningful commitments. These efforts are directed towards the development of strategies that promote integrated water management.

The eGROUNDWATER project not only fosters international cooperation but also emphasizes the importance of involving local stakeholders in decision-making processes. In this case, the use of Ini-Wag ensures a participatory and inclusive approach, paving the way for a shared understanding of the water management situation in Timimoun.
